Aussie AFOL Sue Ann Barber's new site The Plastic Brick House might be just that. It "aims to be a developing resource answering many of the common questions asked by LEGO Fans of all ages. The answers have been created by LEGO Fans using the experiences of those in the local and international community."
Certainly there's some useful information there already about washing LEGO, buying bricks in bulk, starting a LUG, visiting LEGOLAND Malaysia and so on. If it continues in the same vein it should indeed prove to be a useful resource. The background image needs some work, though...
